FetePASS: open data
Where the weather, the map and the pictures come from. Where a licence asks for credit beside the data, the app still gives it there: on the map, under a ferry route and on a photograph.
- MET Norway, Norwegian Meteorological Institute. NLOD 2.0 and CC BY 4.0. Most island weather readings.
- National meteorological services, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, the Dominican Republic and others. Each under its own terms. An island’s own forecast or warning, where it publishes one a machine can read.
- US National Weather Service, NOAA. Public domain. Weather for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
- NOAA WaveWatch III, NOAA, served by the Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System. Free to use and redistribute. Sea state.
- National Hurricane Center, NOAA. Public domain. The Atlantic tropical weather outlook.
- OpenStreetMap, OpenStreetMap contributors. Open Database Licence. Unclaimed place listings, map data and ferry routes.
- OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles, OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles. Free for commercial use, with credit on the map. The map tiles.
- Wikimedia Commons, Each photograph’s author. Each file’s own licence, credited on the picture. Photographs of places that have none of their own.
- Island publishers, 186 news, government and event feeds. Headline, short excerpt and link. The island news and events. Every item names its publisher where it is shown.
FetePASS: designs we learned from
Open-source projects whose structure FetePASS follows. Each is rebuilt in FetePASS’s own code and colours; where a licence asks for its notice to travel with the work, the notice is below.
- Storefront UI, Alokai. MIT. The shop: product cards, gallery, filters, bag and checkout.
- OpenSalon, Clawnify. MIT. Bookings: staff, hours, time off and the appointment calendar.
- Fossify Messages, Fossify. GPL 3.0, design only. How Messages behaves. Rebuilt from a written description; none of its code is used.
- CamX, CamX contributors. GPL 3.0, design only. How the camera behaves. Rebuilt from a written description; none of its code is used.
This site and the Linux extensions

- ArcMenu, Andrew Zaech and LinxGem33. GPL 2.0 or later. Fetelabs ArcMenu, the Task Bar’s start menu, is a fork of ArcMenu 70, under the same licence; the download carries it.
