Bonaire shares a country code with two other islands. Software that models a country and an island as the same thing gets Bonaire wrong the first time somebody enters an address, and the fix is a schema change rather than a bug fix.

Money in Bonaire. Bonaire uses the US dollar outright, which removes the conversion problem and creates a different one: it is easy to assume the rest of the region does too. It does not — a neighbouring island an hour away may be on a pegged EC dollar or a floating rate.
Even here every amount carries its currency code. A field that is "obviously dollars" is the field that breaks the day the product crosses a border.
