Money in St. Barthélemy. St. Barthélemy is a French territory on the euro, which puts it inside European payment and data rules while sitting in the middle of the Caribbean. That combination is the whole engineering story here: a product built for the anglophone islands will be wrong on both currency and compliance.
We hold every amount as integer minor units with an explicit currency code, so a euro price and an EC dollar price cannot be added together by accident. Conversion happens at one explicit boundary and nowhere else.
